A word from our Webmaster about Meta Tags and Search
Engine Traffic!
Hi. My name is Ray Pasnen. I design websites.
You might call it a hobby that pays for itself. This is what I have done
for years and I am finally getting quite good at it. I have realized
that a "good" website needs to not only look great, but, it must attract a lot
of traffic. I think I'm doing OK. Hey, you found this
website, right?
In the designing of this [Myth
and Mystery] and 100 other websites, I have garnered a huge variety of
information and strategies for higher search engine placement. There are a
lot of places on the net who promise to get your site included into thousands
of search engines. They charge between $49-$250 for their "service". Please
don't do this. You are wasting money that you could be using for your next
album. Don't listen to these "making a quick buck for nothing" sites. These
guys are literally getting paid for nothing AND, its wasted anyway if your
meta tags are not "search engine friendly."
There are only about 15-20
engines and indexes where you need to be listed. These are (Engines)
Aeiwi,
Alexa,
AllTheWeb,
AltaVista,
AOL Search,
Anzwers,
DirectHit,
Excite,
Google,
HotBot,
Inktomi,
Kanoodle,
Lycos,
MasterSite,
National Directory,
Northern Light,
Overture.com,
SearchHippo,
SearchIt,
Subjex,
WebsMostLinked,
WebTop,
WiseNut,
What-U-Seek, (Indexes)
About.com,
Ask.com,
Jayde,
JoeAnt.com,
GoGuides.org,
LookSmart,
MSN Search Index,
Open Directory Project,
Rex,
TurnPike,
Yahoo. Though all others
aren't unimportant, they usually get their listings from one of the above
search engines/indexes.
Most independent websites (most
websites in general, really) are ill prepared for listing in these engines and
indexes. You MUST have GOOD META TAGS! For instance, I see a lot of <title>
tags that have the name spelled like this, "mythandmystery". This is not
good, for a lot of reasons which I won't get into now. (I do get into it
here.)
And, this example is just 10% of what I'm talking about. 50% of the sites
listed in this index will find that they are listed below us in other search
engines. This is because we fix your tags before we add them to our
directory. Thereby making your listing on our site more valuable to search
engines than your whole website! Let us make your site "Search Engine
Friendly."
I'll take a look at your meta
tags for free. Email me below and I'll let you know what, if anything,
is wrong with them.
Email me -
bandbseek@hotmail.com. I'll
check your meta tags and maybe make some
suggestions about your textual content. (Textual content really matters to
Search Engines, too.)
It has taken me 3 years to realize that this is
something that you really need. Don't let others take $50-$250 from you.
It will be wasted without these meta tags! I am an independent music artist
and I want to help you. Let's get some traffic to your site. For 10 bucks!
